Discover greatness

Founded in 1936 with one building and less than 40 students, St. Peter's has grown to an expansive campus that allows students to experience new activities, expand their learning and prepare for their future success.

For those interested in golf, our Golf Centre is complete with a driving range, putting green, and 6-hole course. Our experienced team works with a range of abilities, developing them to reach their potential - whether that is to be a casual player or to become a pro.

With 36 paddocks, there is plenty of room for students to bring their horses to school. Our Equestrian Centre trains students in a range of disciplines including dressage, jumping, cross country, and more.

We know that students have a wide range of interests and we support as many as we can. Currently, students can pick from 30 different sports and 35 cultural and arts groups to discover something new.

Embracing the rural nature of the mighty Waikato, we are the only school in New Zealand to have a working dairy farm on site. Students are able to learn practical lessons about ecosystems, farm management and more.

Home of Trees and Champions

Cambridge is known as the town of trees, and there are a lot of them, which contribute to the beauty of the town. There is plenty to do around Cambridge from walking trails, the Te Awa River Ride, welcoming cafes, and various town activities which all contribute to its charm.

Primarily made up of native English speakers, Cambridge has a diverse range of cultures which creates an accepting and inclusive town. Cambridge is perfect for our students to explore as it has a safe and friendly atmosphere where the community accepts our students as part of their own.

Around Cambridge there is a range of world-class sporting centres that offer our students the chance to experience and witness high performance competitions and athletes. From the home of rowing at Lake Karapiro to the Grassroots Trust Velodrome and the high-performance equestrian centre on site, greatness is never far away.

Ideally located, Cambridge is only a 20-minute drive from the growing city of Hamilton and 90 minutes from Auckland International Airport. Key tourist hot spots such as Tauranga, Rotorua and Taupo are all within a short 2-hour drive from Cambridge, giving students a chance to experience Aotearoa New Zealand easily.

I really love the campus and facilities here at St. Peter’s that support my education in every aspect. St. Peter’s also offers IB, which will help me grow my knowledge internationally, which will prepare me for the future. As a Year 13, I also enjoy the College area that is designed to help me prepare for the future and use it as my quiet study time during and after school as well. Currently, I’m a Head of Oliphant House and Year 9 Prefect. It’s a challenging role to lead our young students. However, they are part of my life right now to help me learn something new every day. I really enjoyed my time here at St. Peter’s, and I can say that this is my home away from home.
